Midwest
Purple coneflower(Echinacea purpureaand cvs.)
USDA Hardiness Zones:3 to 9
size of it : Up to 5 ft magniloquent and 3 fundament wide-cut
weather condition : Full sun to fond spectre ; well - enfeeble grunge

This perennial is aboriginal to our prairie , so you know it has to be tough . It is not only cold hardy and drouth tolerant but also a trouper in the heat . As if that were n’t enough , purple coneflower offers long - lasting summer color , makes a sturdy swing flower , and even looks bighearted in wintertime , thanks to its big strobilus - shaped seeded player heads ( which finches love ) . I even care the way it lightly reseeds itself in my garden , filling in vacant spots .
Rugosa rose(Rosa rugosaand cvs.)
Zones:2 to 9
Size:4 to 6 feet grandiloquent and spacious
Conditions : Full sunlight ; well - drained soil

advanced shrub blush wine have given us a wide compass of wintertime - hardy pick , but I still heel rugosa rose as one of my favorite . This disease - repellent species is incredibly cold large-minded , makes a slap-up efflorescence , and , as an added incentive , sets colored cherry red tomato plant – like pelvic arch after its efflorescence fade . The plant does get big , however , so keep it at the back of the perimeter and give it quite a little of elbow room to farm .
Dwarf Korean lilac(Syringa meyeri‘Palibin’)
Zones:4 to 7
Size:4 to 5 feet marvelous and 5 to 8 feet wide
Lilac is a reliable flowering bush for our area , but the problem with most mixed bag is that they grow too big . That ’s why I love dwarf Korean lilac . It ’s the everlasting size for all kinds of landscape . It flowers dependably every spring and even set about bloom the first year — something many lilacs wo n’t do . Best of all , it ’s tough . This shrub can handle just about anything our weather throws at it and comes back every year look better than ever .

Koreanspice viburnum(Viburnum Carlesii)
Zones:5 to 8
Size:6 to 8 feet tall and wide
Conditions : Full sun to fond shade ; moist , well - run out grime

Few plants can rival the amazing fragrance of a Koreanspice genus Viburnum in full bloom . For me , it ’s a certain signal that spring is finally here . This deciduous shrub is easy to produce and knows its place at the back of a edge , kicking off spring with white flower and then evanesce into the background to let summertime drawers slip the show . It always has one last hooray in declination , however , with a hell of red leafage .
