Today ’s photo is fromJan Johnsen , a garden decorator in Mount Kisco , New York . She sound out , “ Who does n’t love the secret of a blue logic gate ? This is the main entry to a volute veggie garden that I design in a far off quoin of a endearing property . The gate , flanked by two blue green boxwoods , is part of a protective wire mesh fence ( to ward off rabbits , etc . ) hidden amongst a dense bush border . It is rig back on a paved landing of aged cobblestones . I used this stuff as much for looks as for the requirement to have a intemperate surface under a gate limen . Wheelbarrows and unreasonable dealings can wear thin down the earth here so a paved apron is a near estimation . I also relocated a large Au threadleaf false cypress ( Chamaecyparis pisifera‘Filifera Aurea ’ , USDA Hardiness Zones 4 - 8) just beyond the gate to act as a bright yellowish - green backdrop . When the afternoon Dominicus hits it , the cypress seems to burn . The ‘ Goldmound ’ spirea ( Spiraea japonica‘Goldmound ’ , Zones 4 - 9 ) pick up the yellowness in the front flora margin . This particular shade of blue angel on the gate was specifically chosen by my wonderful node for its richness and depth . With all these fiddling touches , the bluish logic gate is an irresistible attraction to a visitor . ” Thanks , Jan , for share-out ! Check out Jan ’s bloghere .
