I was of late range through an Australian horticulture magazine . ( I read them so you do n’t have to . ) A column claiming that “ turf is one of the most environmentally favorable product in the reality ” caught my attention . Here are some of its claims :
I do n’t know whether this is true or not , but it makes me recall that the usual problem link up with turf ( too much water , pesticides , antifungal agent ) might be more the fault of the somebody with the lawn . If the lawn proprietor did n’t involve a utterly green carpeting of grass , there would n’t be much need for all the pother .
Much of my one - Accho property is lawn dope . Actually , it is a mixing of lawn eatage , weeds , clover , and anything else that materialise to be growing there . I do n’t hoist a finger to conserve it ( except mowing — which produces harmful emissions ) . I like my lawn and have no reason to move out it : What would my Thomas Kyd work on ? But I also do n’t irrigate it or feed it .

Could it be that lawn are n’t the problem , but improper expectations are ?
