Last week I posted about how to assure if your produce is GE , constitutional or conventional by looking at the PLU labels . This week I want to blab about GE foods and labeling of them . Some might ask , what is the swelled mountain about genetically modified intellectual nourishment and the labeling issue that so many mass want in the food market stores ? For your info , genetically alter food are sometimes also call off GE ( genetically organize ) , GM ( genetically alter ) and GMO ( genetically modified organism ) and are sometimes used interchangeably .
Well , there are several grownup deals . For the first one we have to go back to the outset . No GE crops that are grown for the yield of food have ever been tested in long terminal figure studies to see if they are harmful to people . No examination required - no rule whatever . Why ? Because the USDA does n’t demand them ? Why ? near enquiry ! I would n’t be as interested if the manufacturers of these seeds were required to run tests to check that their products / produce were dependable for humans before putting them on the grocery . That could establish whether they are in reality harmful or not . These potbelly are certainly making enough money to do the research require for safety but do n’t . I do n’t believe they care as long as they arenot required to like . Here ’s my opinion - earnings first ! Money for these corporation , money for congress people ( not all congress people ) who wo n’t pass laws protect the consumer , money for USDA to move around their capitulum . Sad is n’t it but if it is n’t true , than why are we not being protected ?
Here is some information on current GE foods in America :
‘ Round Up quick ’ cornseeds – What does that mean ? Well , it means that the factor that get ‘ labialize Up ’ work ( kill weeds ) has been spliced genetically with corn cistron . Round Up is the same weedkiller you may be using to defeat weeds in your gardens . So when a husbandman gets ‘ round off Up Ready ’ seeds , they can spray Round Up on their crops without killing them but it vote down the skunk . The crops will not die but the widow’s weeds will . Also the manufacturers of these seed just take place to betray Round Up as well - hmm ! ! In the get-go it worked . Now I read recently that a whole slew of ‘ crack ’ weed have develop ( acquire ) that Round Up does n’t work on anymore .
‘ Bt corn’seed ( to control clavus worms ) . Bt is an organic pesticide that is being slice into the corn whisky gene . Unfortunately ( or fortunately if you ’re the worm ) , the worms are starting to become resistant to this . Now , one could contend Bt is an organic pesticide . This is true , but do I want to ingest it in genetically altered food for thought I eat ? No .
‘ lash out Up quick ’ sugar beetseed which has been approve by USDA . Of all the sugar produced in the US , 54 % fall from lolly beets and 90 % of all sugar beets out there are GE grown . This will greatly increase GE sugar in the American food chain . enceinte ! But there is a way of life out of this - usage sugar cane products - sugar cane is good - NON - GMO .
‘ polish up Up quick ’ alfalfais also fed to our stock that we eat or drink their Milk River . Again we do n’t ingest it first mitt but do n’t you want to make that pick ?
GE weed killer - resistive soybeans–95 % of soya bean grown in the US are GM !
