A garden helping through a difficult time
Today we ’re visiting Kit Jensen ’s garden , looking back at some views from the past yr .
While I ’ve own this small suburban house in northeast Ohio ( South Euclid ) for over 30 years , the garden has changed so much . These are views of the past twelvemonth when heyday became a solace and a daily interest .
A mix ofhellebore(Helleborus orientalishybrid — I intend ‘ Pink Fizz ’ or ‘ Amber Gem ’ , Zones 4–9 ) and ephemeral bulb .

These Oriental poppies(Papaverorientale , Zones 3–8 ) are eagerly awaited . Oriental poppy are long - lived perennials , but they go dormant each summer after blossom .
Clematismontana‘Odorata’(Zones 5–9 ) makes a terrific display out of a chainlink fence .
Lonicerasempervirens‘Major Sir Robert Eric Mortimer Wheeler ’ ( Zones 4–8 ) , with bugleweed(Ajugareptans , Zones 3–10 ) to a lower place . commit in this long - blooming vine was the beginning of adding more verticals .

Peonies are such a durable , long - live perennial they can be passed down from generation to generation . These are my granny ’s peonies(Paeoniahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) .
This pink wine helps disguise a neighboring garage .
A donate mandevilla(Mandevillahybrid , Zones 9–11 or as annual ) glows in the eve sunset .

ThisClematis tangutica(Zones 5–9 ) with smart yellow flower was Modern this year . The seed head stayed as attractive through December .
The alyssum(Lobularia maritima , one-year ) ego - seeds each twelvemonth , as does the dusty miller(Jacobaea maritima , Zones 7–10 or as an one-year ) under the tree hydrangea(Hydrangeapaniculata , Zones 3–8 ) .
