One of my preferred breakfast - time treat is a gracious churn egg , or “ chooky egg”as they get called in our house . It ’s ordinarily a give up treat , allow for slothful weekend , or if we ’re prosperous , when we ’re gifted some lovely bracing egg from our neighbor . On those days , it ’s unimaginable to stop at just one , so I wish to have a few cosies around to keep the extra eggs nice and tender .
I made these dewy-eyed cosies using left over bits and bot of sock yarn . They only demand a few yards each , and if you make a stripy version , you could use up even the smallest scraps so nothing is wasted .
What you ’ll ask :

footstep 1
begin with 32 range of mountains stitch ( ch ) . Without twisting the chain , make a gaffe stich ( sl st ) into the first chain to form a cringle .
whole tone 2

For Row 1 , 3 ch , then make a doubled crocheting ( dc ) into each chain around the loop to the beginning .
Step 3
When you have reached the commencement , make a Shining Path st into the top of the start 3 ch .

stair 4
If you ’d care to make stripe , change the color narration you are using . For course 2 , 3ch , then make a dc into each dc of the round below . Once you attain the root , make a sl st into the top of the start 3 ch .
Step 5

Continue spend a penny eight rows in this way . Changing colouring as often as you ’d like , or keep to one colouring if you prefer .
footfall 6
In Row 9 , you ’ll make the frilly edging on top . Join a new colour yarn to the top and make 3 ch , then skip 1 dc and make a sl st into the next D.C. .

footprint 7
Continue in the same fashion : 3 ch , skip 1 direct electric current , make a sl st in next dc , all around and then make a Shining Path st into the starting stitch to finish .
Step 8

To make the tie , make 50 ch and then break the recital .
Step 9
screw thread one oddment of the left - over yarn onto your phonograph needle and use the needle to weave in and out of the stitches of the third wrangle down ( as shown on pic ) and pull the tie beam through .

stair 10
Once the tie is weave all , apply the thread needle to weave the ends into the tie to hide them .
Step 11

tear the tie tight to hunker the cosy into shape , and then tie a bow to secure .
If you postulate to conform the size of your tea cozy to go a tumid or smaller orchis you could easily do this by adjusting the number of get chemical chain . A few less for a small egg , or a few more for a large one . All you need to do is make trusted that you start with an even number of chains and the radiation diagram will still work . you may even make the cozy a little longer by adding an extra row if you need to .
Here ’s a few colour mind to get you bulge out :
