Ladew Topiary Garden in Monkton , Maryland , is a marvelous public garden with a band to offer , but most notably , an astonishing collection of topiary . Topiary is the artistry of pruning bush and other plants into creative human body . To maintain thick , greenish ontogeny decently to the bottom of the topiary , the bottoms of the form need to be wider than the top so that the top growth does n’t shade out the bottom .
