An in-depth look at the journey one little garden took from blank slate to big interest, starting at the beginning
Happy Friday GPODers !
Today she ’s back with a footling twist . Rather than showcasing another stunning garden she has locomote to or giving us a feel at what ’s happening in her beautiful garden in Richmond , British Columbia in good order now , she ’s telling us the full narrative of the evolution her little garden run through when they add together a greenhouse to the space . This is plain no small endeavour , and Cherry has graciously provided us with lots of details and pace - by - footprint photograph that will be released in a series over the coming weeks . This post will plow the preparation and decision making process , as well as discuss that garden transformation that occurred long before the greenhouse was even an mind .
deeply down most of us avid nurseryman wish and dream for a nursery . I have swoon over the many stunning greenhouses of the gardening celebrities – I bonk pretty but budget and space are major considerations for me . Today , over several mail service , I ’ll sharing our experience of adding a small prefabricate greenhouse to our backyard .

preparation , Considerations and Decisions
We research and shopped lots prior to taking the plunge . Personally , aside from Russell Nursery ’s ( @russellnursery ) site : hallsgreenhousesbc.com , I find the BC Greenhouse Builders ( @bc_greenhouses ) website an excellent online imagination : bcgreenhouses.com . Moreover , they make some of the most beautiful and durable glasshouse that I have seen locally !
plan and decisions were made . give our backyard is a little 500 hearty feet/45 square meter , the web site I chose was the east bed of our backyard since it receives 6 hours or more of sun , was easy to get at without sitting in the middle of the backyard , and added an interesting feature that could be viewed from inside our home . The garden bed section beat 16 feet/4.9 time long and 6.3 feet/1.9 measure wide .

Blank Space to Perennial Garden
It looked like this is 2008 before we implant the repeated garden .
In 2008 we DIY engraft with blueprint help fromPhoenix perennial . The photo register the twelvemonth older perennial garden in July 2009 .

celebrate the fragrant delicate lavender blooms of the midget Korean lilacs(Syringameyeri‘Palibin ’ , Zones 3–7)which aromatize the gentle wind for 3 weeks every May .
I remember even the neighbours commented how howling their scent was .
Hubby object to this site for the glasshouse as it would mean we would drop off them .

The full-blown perennial garden in August 2020 .
Our garden is in the coastal western Canada , Zone 8a with an average snowfall of 4.4 inches/11.3 centimeters per twelvemonth . idle words is unassailable from October to April with average speeds of more than 5.03 miles/8.1 kilometers per hour . winter are generally cockeyed and farsighted , average rainfall get is 31.89 inches/810 millimeter of rain per year .
More to come !

give thanks you so much for sharing these unbelievable insights , Cherry ! A fate of garden enhancement requiring sacrifice plantings or structures that no longer work , and I can only imagine how hard it was to say cheerio to those unbelievable lilac . But I know the end result was deserving it !
